Journey at the SDAC UAM

"My experience, I must say I am very proud of myself for taking a step and registering myself at SADC University of traditional medicine. I have always wanted to be a Doctor but I didn't meet the requirements hence I decided to follow a different route in my studies but now I feel I have been given a chance to finally become a doctor. I plan to study further with SADC.Thats my next move."

"I had a good experience with the University, I've learnt more about the university which I did not know about. It's really a life changing experience for upcoming African Doctors. There is more to learn than just black and white, it's all shaded in different colors. Meaning that all is broad.Im highly respectful of the institution and its leadership and faculty. I've now learnt to be confident of the power that I carry. If it wasn't for the University putting us on this higher platform to be recognized I don't think I would be this confident in ubuNyanga nobuNgoma as all is seen as low. I'm highly inspired."

Dr. Mhlauli

"I am Theodorah Mhlauli GG Ntabayamanzi nsizwa ka RadebeAs a young African Traditional healer, I was introduced to a SADC workshop by Dr Kheswa in Katlehong where I got initiated. We were hosted by Professor Mohami & Professor Lukhuleni.
It was beyond expectation that my life would change for the better. I encountered challenges & hardships yet I made it through as any calling has its fair share of obstacles we have to endure going through the worthy process. I registered with SADC University of African Medicine after being inspired by our field of practice being so diverse. I became eager to learn so as to broaden my knowledge and obtain more teachings.
I first received my Diploma and had confidence in operating my practice knowing I'm authorized, protected and recognized by SADC AUM. Is then I decided to level up and graduated in November 2021 and received my Doctorate degree in African Medicine."

Dr. Mokiri

" SADC UAM has changed my life drastically, from just being called "ngaka ya sesotho" to a African Medicine doctor which i never thought in my entire life that I would one day be classified as a doctor. It has always been my dream to attend a university which dealt with only what I specialize in, which is African Medicine but  this one of its own University of African Medicine came to my rescue.

Before SADC UAM I had clients and consultations were taking place at my surgery but they were not as my heart desired. The very first day when I announced that I was going to recieve a doctorate in what I do, it was unbelievable since other African Doctors do not know about the institution. When I came back with my reward clients and the public came running  to visit my surgery  like never before. Today i am who  am because of THE SADC UAM and I have now gave  birth to spiritual children whom I will also ensure they go to the institution and graduate."

DR Mtshweni

"Summary of my spiritual journey

I grew up with the gift I discovered myself at a very young age, but having to grow in a Christian family it was very hard for me to fit in as they didn't believe in everything I was telling them.
I would see shadows of people passing by, see who is coming in for the day and what was gonna happen for the day, but sadly my family would just say I'm just seeing things that didn't exist
I left it at that tried to find a way to fit in the normal world like everybody else,2003 I found a job at City of Tshwane electricity call center. I didn't stay long then found a permanent post in Roads and Stormwater department in Tshwane and worked as Administration Officer
But still my life was not easy I was constantly very ill and always in and out of hospital. Till for some reason decided to resign (after 8) , and that's when my ancestors grabbed me by the throat and started working on me.
They would come in dreams teach me many things, told me what to do how and when until they told me they are done with me I must go to my grandfather Mr Buthelezi he has iskhwama Sam(bones) I immediately called him he drove over sat down with me and confirmed that Indeed there is iskhwama that was left from his late brother who got it from their granny who was a healer.

That's basically my summary on how I became a healer"

Our Future Leaders

  Mbali

"I don't even know where to begin but I will start where I can... currently I'm 15yrs old doing my grade 10

I grew up a very sick person, I constantly had weird dreams at times feeling like there are shadows of people standing next to me and talking

From an early days of my primary school days I could wear school shoes the entire day like other kids, but funny enough my mom would not shout at me for coming home with my shoes on my hands. Little did I know that she knew I had a calling

As I grew having to be different from other kids always wanting to be alone having those dreams I started feeling suicidal

My mom took me to see a child phycologist only to realize she was a healer as well and told my mom I had a calling which is what my mom already knew

2019 November I was 13yrs that's when I was initiated and right there n then that's where I started understanding myself, found myself and understood why so many things were happening to me and since the acceptance of my calling my life is now better and smooth sailing I'm proud of the person I am today"

Boitumelo

'My life started getting stuck at the age of 16 where I kept questioning myself why is my life this way

I started loosing focus at school and thought I won't make it but with the grace of my ancestors I pulled through till I passed my matric.

My mom was once told I was bewitched n that made me loose hope but inside of me there was always something telling me not to give up, little did I know it was my ancestors talking to me

The challenge I had/have is still trying to balance myself around my peers as many without knowledge think Healers are full of witchcraft

Apart from that I'm very much happy that my family and I finally found ourselves"
